Providing comprehensive care in pregnancy and beyond is the cornerstone
to midwifery care. Care starts whenever
you are ready and is concluded at around 6 weeks postpartum. Our care is
complete and includes antenatal testing and labs in addition to your routine
prenatal check-ups. Having no need for
most clients to visit an obgyn or participate in other doctor/hospital care
during pregnancy is one of the most appealing aspects of midwifery care.
Our prenatal appointments are not rushed. We will take time
to address any questions and concerns that you have. During our appointments we spend time
discussing the purposes for the tests, labs and treatments offered but do not
bully you into participating. We believe
that when it comes to your care, you are the best decision maker. Truly informed choice is our specialty.
Education is of utmost importance and we strive to provide
tools, information and resources all throughout your care so that you can make
the right decisions for your family. We stress the importance of nutrition for
growing a healthy baby thus optimizing the chances of a smooth, natural
delivery.
Fees for Midwifery Services
Birth can be expensive and can cost well over $20-$30K
for a basic vaginal hospital delivery. We strive to keep birth affordable
to those seeking individualized and thoughtful care by providing discounts as available. And although
"cheap" can be found sometimes, we believe deeply in the quality of
service that we offer. I may not be the
cheapest midwife available, but I do promise to do my best to give you the time
and attention you need and to support you to the very best of my ability.
If you are a cash-pay client your fee will be bundled to already include several
discounts, bringing your global fee down to around
$6600-$6900
(based on a few
health/medical factors that are considered).
Payments are made at your prenatal visits with no additional interest or
penalties as long as full payment is achieved by 34 weeks. Details of payment amounts will be discussed
and agreed upon when you begin care.
Your Global Fee includes your prenatal, postpartum, labor,
birth, and basic newborn care. It also
includes your birth supply kit, labor prep teas, herbs, some essential oils,
management, assistance, assessments, basic pp healing, basic prenatal
counseling and birth education, basic initial breastfeeding support, etc.,
etc., etc. Please note that there may be
some items not included in the global fee.
This could include things such as birth complications, extended lactation
assistance, ultrasounds, labs, screenings, facility fees, additional birth
assistants, rentals, certain supplements/medications, RhoGAM, sutures, IV
supplies, counseling, home visits, etc.
Please note that if you have a Healthsharing type insurance,
fees may vary from those listed here because not all discounts may be
applicable. Fees for such clients will
be figured on an individual basis based on care needs and relevant discounts
will be applied.
Because out-of-hospital birth is highly sought after, and
midwives are in high demand, my calendar tends to fill up rather quickly. If you are serious about working with me, I
urge you to set up a consultation as soon as possible to ensure your due date
is available.
I look forward to sitting down with you to discuss your
upcoming birth. To set up a free, no obligation, consultation simply fill out the contact form below and I will personally contact you to set something up. -Pamela Brott, LM, CPM
Initial
breastfeeding support is included in your midwifery care. Additional
counseling may be available and/or a referral to additional counseling can be
requested any time.
Breastfeeding
can be one of the most emotionally challenging, yet rewarding experiences a
mother ever has the privilege to accept. And along with the relationship that
is built between mother and baby, your baby will receive the very best,
complete nutrition possible.
The need that your new baby has to be breastfed goes far beyond the excellent
nutrition. Your baby needs that time close to you. They need that touch, that
skin-to-skin contact. They need to know that you are there to protect them.
Your baby needs to hear your heartbeat, feel your warmth and bask in every
close moment you give at the breast.
For you, breastfeeding should be a time for rest and relaxation, a time to take
a break from the world around you and just enjoy the smell, touch and feel of
your baby. This time of bonding is an amazing opportunity for both mother and
baby.
It is rewarding to witness the bond grow between a mother
and her baby as their nursing relationship matures. Breastfeeding is
natural...true enough, but learning to breastfeed is something altogether
different. It is my goal to help every new mother succeed at breastfeeding. In
addition to being a midwife, I am certified as a Breastfeeding Counselor.
Occasionally I can provide one-on-one
counseling. But often times my schedule
is quite full. In those cases, I refer
out to a wonderful breastfeeding consultant that can give you the attention you
need to find success.
Often times getting help early is the key to correcting the problem. Waiting
too long never makes it impossible, but it does make it much more
difficult. If you are needing help, reach out.
